Three Brothers Bring a High-Tech Take on Craft Beers
Published on Thursday 09 February 2017
We’ve made an exciting new real ale discovery recently; some incredible craft beers are being brewed just a few miles from our Yarm store. While not strictly “Yorkshire” we’re excited to be stocking these new ales from the brand new Three Brothers Brewing Co. based just across the border in Eaglescliffe, County Durham. The Three Brothers Brewing Company is the vision of former chemical engineer Kit Dodd, who had previously cut his teeth brewing beers at Wall’s Brewery in Northallerton. Setting out on his own with the support of his brother, mechanical engineer Dave, and brother-in-law, head chef Chris (hence the 3 Brothers!) together they have created a modern and efficient brewery capable of producing 7500 pints of ale per week from scratch.
By combining the care and attention of the craft brewer with modern control methods, learned from their engineering backgrounds, they can consistently produce fantastic tasting beer with some unusual flavours, including lemongrass, cranberry and Trevor Swales Yorkshire Honey. Combined with a penchant for quirky and unusual names, such as the Ex-Wife Bitter (get it?) and the ThaIPA (an IPA blended with lemongrass), these fine beverages are refreshingly different.
Lewis and Cooper wishes them every success with this exciting new venture and we’re pleased to be one of the first to be stocking a range of these great beers. They're available now in both of our stores, so pop in, try a couple and let us know what you think of them on Facebook or Twitter.
